Speaker Biography

Mark Jay is a UPLB BS Computer Science graduate (Class of 2019) who built his career in software engineering and cybersecurity. After moving to Japan, he started as a penetration test engineer, later transitioning to security operations, where he developed SOAR solutions with Python and automated workflows using Ansible. In March 2024, he joined Early Reflections as a software engineer, contributing to in-house product development, contract projects, and R&D.

With a strong background in backend engineering, Thea has successfully led small teams, collaborated with clients, and managed complex migration projects. She recently earned a one-year master’s degree in Applied Cybersecurity from the University of New Brunswick (UNB), Canada. Currently, she is advancing her cybersecurity expertise as a Cybersecurity Developer Intern at the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC), with research focusing on password modeling and generative AI.

His contributions extend to software security research, including playing a pivotal role in discovering multiple CVEs within the privacy-centric Brave Browser.
